Kinematic Viscosity

Kinematic Viscosity (v) (m²/s)

The Kinematic Viscosity of a liquid measures its resistance to flow under gravity. It is largely dependent on the temperature of the liquid. The British Standards advise that a water temperature of 15°C will be sufficient for most applications. The kinematic viscosity has only a small impact on the flow, so it is not usually required to calculate flow at different temperatures.
