This spreadsheet calculates the asphalt dynamic modulus using 5 different methods. The results are useful for a number of asphalt design and analysis tools including the MEDG Asphalt Design Spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet includes 5 different methods of evaluating the asphalt dynamic modulus, including Asphalt Institute Model, the Hirsch Model, two versions of the Witczak Model and a correlation from the asphalt static modulus. These models take easily determined parameters from the asphalt mix design such as voids, binder content, aggregate grading etc, and uses these to estimate the ashpalt dynamic modulus. This is very useful for preliminary design or for evaluating existing flexible pavements.
The spreadsheet also includes unique tools allowing the user to see the effects of different input values, such as binder contents, different void percentages and different aggregate gradings. The ability to see these results all in one graph without changing the inputs saves a great deal of time, as the user can evaluate the full range of inputs without manually changing them over and over.
