This spreadsheets calculates the design maximum allowable traffic loading for a Cement Bound Materials (CBM) foundation layer in accordance with the Australian AustRoads standard. This can be used in conjunction with an elastic analysis program such as our Elastic Analysis Tool to design a CBM layer which can be added into a full pavement design package such as the MEDG Asphalt Design Spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet takes user input values for the CBM layers dynamic modulus and the tensile strain imposed on the layer under traffic loading, and uses these to calculate the maximum allowable traffic loading before the CBM layer will fail due to fatigue cracking. This calculation is done in accordance with the Australian AustRoads standard.
The spreadsheet also includes unique tools allowing the user to see the effects of different tensile strains or dynamic moduli without re-entering any of the input data. This makes it easy for the designer to quickly calculate the maximum tensile strain or required CBM dynamic modulus for a particular traffic loading.
