The CivilWeb Concrete Strength Calculator suite of spreadsheets includes more than 10 useful calculator tools.
- Characteristic Strength Calculator - This spreadsheet calculates the required mean compressive strength for a specified characteristic strength. This allows the user to evaluate whether a small sample of concrete strength test results are likely to satisfy the specification or not.
- Water-Cement Ratio Strength Calculator - This tool estimates the compressive strength of the concrete simply from the water-cement ratio using Abram's formula. This gives the designer an idea of how a specified minimum water-cement ratio is likely to affect the compressive strengths of the concrete.
- The suite includes three methods of estimating the strength of the concrete at any age. This can be done from any two test results of different ages, or from two different methods of estimating the strength at any age from the specified 28 day strength.
- Compressive Strength to Flexural Strength Converter - This tool converts the compressive strength of the concrete to an estimated flexural strength. This is commonly used where flexural strength is specified to avoid flexural strength testing such as for concrete
- Compressive Strength to Indirect Splitting Tensile Strength Converter - This calculator estimates the indirect splitting tensile strength of the concrete from the compressive strength.
- Flexural Strength Maturity Calculator - This tool estimates the flexural strength of the concrete at any age based on the specified or measured 28 day value. This can be used for concrete pavements where early opening is required or where the design takes account of late age strength.
- Flexural Strength to Modulus of Elasticity Converter - This tool estimates the concrete's modulus of elasticity from the specified flexural strength. This is useful where the design or analysis method requires an accurate elasticity input to complete deflection calculations.
- Flexural Strength to Indirect Splitting Tensile Strength Converter - This tool estimates a value for the indirect splitting tensile strength of the concrete based on the flexural strength or vice versa.
- Indirect Splitting Tensile Strength Maturity Calculator - This to estimates the indirect splitting tensile strength of the concrete from the concrete compressive strength specified or measured at 28 days.
- Aggregate Grading (Tarantula Curve) - This spreadsheet uses the Tarantula Curve method to evaluate the suitability of the aggregate grading for concrete.
- Aggregate Grading (0.45 Power Curve) - This spreadsheet uses the 0.45 Power Curve method to evaluate the suitability of the aggregate grading for concrete.
- Aggregate Grading (Coarseness Factor) - This spreadsheet uses the Coarseness Factor method to evaluate the suitability of the aggregate grading for concrete.
